Nitte (Deemed to be University) established NAMASTE Centre for Studies on NE States in 2015 with the aim of bringing about an emotional connect with the brothers and sisters of NE India. The establishment of this centre was a result of the unstinting efforts of Late Shri P B Acharya, the former Governor of Nagaland, who was a Messiah of love and brotherhood for our fellow countrymen in NE India. Over the years, the NAMASTE Centre at NITTE has been very active in honouring the commitment of our Chancellor, Shri N Vinaya Hegde and Late Shri P B Acharya towards creating a close connection with the people of NE India. Some of the major activities of the NAMASTE Centre include conduct of certificate programs on NE dialects, collaborative research in health care, solidarity cultural exchange programs for students/faculty and academic opportunities to NE students in the form of NAMASTE Fellowships to enrol in various academic programs with full tuition fee waiver.
